We have had no rain here since early March. And I do mean literally no rain.

Not sure where "here" is. Out of curiosity I've just checked a local weather station's report here (N Wilts). We had 2cm on April 4. Luckily, plants have been living off that deluge ever since. One advantage of clay soil is that it retains the moisture.

Oh I think you'll know! It's not thermostatically controlled so the room will just get hotter and hotter...
Actually the warm weather could be a bonus as the early firings tend to be smelly as the factory coatings are burnt off and at least you can have the windows open to let the fumes out.

Another warm day here but the breeze is still noticeable and variations on E and N so dizzy heights will likely not be reached except in sheltered places - or car interiors.
I was helping to deliver a river dipping activity at work yesterday and the moderating effects of the breeze were very welcome as we tried to keep everyone under control.

Almost got too hot here midday/early afternoon, but the breeze still from E or N and variations thereon took the peak off. Those who headed for the coast would I fear have had a chilly time of it with the wind coming off the North Sea keeping temps mid teens rather than low 20's.

My shade thermometer reached 22 C here this afternoon - the highest so far this year. Very pleasant - all windows opened to let the accumulated stale air out, following the past two days' worth of spring cleaning. Five bagfuls of dust collected by the vac!!!

Covent Garden district was lovely this morning - surprisingly not as many foks around as I'd expected on a decently warm and sunny first Bank Holiday of the year. Spent the rest of the afternoon lying on my tummy in the sun my holey multipurpose spare blanket, recovering from the 14-mile cycle ride/stroll.

It was actually 4 degrees warmer here at midday (21 C) today than yesterday, but with the breeze getting up I think it might well have peaked not far above that.

We have one more day of this, then I'm afraid it's all downhill, with heavy thunderstorms being predicted from Wednesday, especially for S Wales, the Midlands, E Anglia and then northwards, followed by much cooler unsettled and windy weather. We might well get the thunder down here, but not the worst of it. So, to make the most of it - while giving my legs a bit of respite following yesterday's 14 mile cycle marathon - I shall this afternoon be taking a walk around the neighbourhood parks and woodlands, which are at their most beautiful right now.
