Still and the sun out today - very much better than the return to wintry wind and rain we had yesterday.

The middle height cloud (altostratus) emanating from that weakening front out to the SW has crept across, only partly blocking out the sun, however, and the temperature had already reached 16 C by midday. It's still on course for continuing to warm up until Sunday at least, now remaining dry practically everywhere. With vigorous low pressure almost stationary over the Iberian peninsula, anyone who has booked Easter in Spain or Portugal (in fact much of the Mediterranean region) is going to be kicking themselves!

We've had no rain up here for almost a fortnight. Early plants are gasping and I am watering them every day - literally!! In APRIL?

I too am doing the watering can run. It isn't that unusual for such activity to become necessary in this neck of the woods in April. When I had my allotments, which were largely open to the N and E, April could be a difficult month as it has been this year, with cool very dry conditions holding sowings back and stressing young plants. The occasional burst of warm weather just made things more difficult, especially anything under cover which could end up getting too hot as well as too dry.
Today eventually became pleasantly warm around midday/early afternoon but once the sun became hazy the temperature dropped quickly and noticeably. It looks as if overnight frosts aren't too likely the next few days which will make a pleasant change.

Turned out very good yesterday. Went for a saunter in my power wheelchair!

A pleasant change to step out of the back door into warmth. Putting the washing out was a pleasure, not least for being able to appreciate the various smells which have been muted by the cold and wind.

If someone says the pollen count isn’t high, they could’ve fooled me!

Pollen count was specifically mentioned on TV last night as a warning.

Lovely day here with a breeze but one of those lovely warm breezes - weather station showing 19.5!

                              But not without sneezing?
