It still looks set to settle down from Tuesday, so, there is something to look forward to!!!
Not anymore it ain't! One reason for naming days rather than using 'tomorrow'.

One daffodil reluctant to open for weeks is finally fully opened on this dull and windy morning, so it quite brightens up my day.

"Met Office issues yellow snow warning..." (from online Grauniad)
Sometime word order matters - unless this is also pollution warning?

Frank Zappa wrote a song about avoiding yellow snow. "Watch out where those huskies go", wasn't it?

Quite a bit of flooding up here, though now rain looks to have stopped and wind dropped a little - Deo Gratias!
The problem is that greenswards can look beautiful but be absolutely treacherous to walk on when as saturated as they are. Riverside paths lethal too.

We just had a bit of rain but very strong winds yesterday. Today I think is going to be better.

Here, a mix of sunny intervals, breezy showers with some hail. Grey has tuned to blue for now!

They tabloids are calling it "the Beast from the West". Tut tut, they need to try harder. Surely "The Pest from the West" scans better and, unless people start dying, more accurate.

Certainly yesterday evening was stormy, I worried that I'd have wind blown rubbish to clear from the garden this morning; but no, all's well. Main worry is that living on a small hill in the midlands is making me complacent...

Lovely sunny morning in this bit of the Pennines today - a walk was irresistable: a bit parkier than it looked from indoors, but crisp and refreshing (and the first bells on the Pieris have appeared).

AND - oops! - as I write, it's started chicking it down!!

Some nice cumulonimbus anvils popping up among the cauliflour clouds now in the exceptionaly clear air - features clearly visible on Hampstead Heath through binoculars, 12 miles to the north - and a flurry of lightning strikes scattered across the map. The season of April showers has commenced!

                              - the downpour lasted about half-an-hour, and it's back to this morning's sunny chill
