I recommend Frost Protection fleece jackets - available at all Garden Centres, oddy - available in different sizes (about £7 for two or three [depending on size] and each lasts at least two Winters); you just slip them over the top of the tree/shrub/plant you want to protect, tie the drawstring at the bottom, and leave it until Spring.

And come the spring, if you're Prince Charles, the plant will tell you "Thank god that ******* cover's come off at last".

Yes, and made of micro-plastic fibres that wash out and into the river / sea systems ending up back in the human gut through fish. Hmm.

A rather uninspiring day today, by the looks of things.

Ooh I dunno. Just went for my six montly at the dentist, and came away £130 the poorer but with a re-built upper far left molar, and freshly shined up set. It's really made my day!

Oh, and I saw 5 daffodils in flower on the way back.

A wet miserable day here today. Very little to recommend it other than it is not too cold.

Daffodils? When I were a lad, we had to make do with snowdrops, and then only if we dug 'em out from under three foot of snow with our bare hands.

Ours were planted alongside t'swedes, on top of t'anderson shelter.

Looks rather foggy down here today. Will I be able to try out my new electric wheelchair again?

Presumably you would need to be careful on slippery surfaces, BBM. I remember my father's maverick approach to conditions when he was motoring on his, particularly with regards to tilted pavements and sloping driveways. I'm sure had I not have been accompanying him he would have overturned - not that I would have been able to stop this happening, given the combined weight of himself and vehicle!

Mild, calm and almost muggy here this morning. Watch out for gales expected on Friday over most of the country, as a very deep low spins its way NE across the tips of N Ireland and Scotland.
