Cloud, yes, early rain, yes, humid, yes, but, mirabile visu, even a bit of sun......and that's oop 'ere!
It'll never last, as many say about a lot round here.

My computer whizz phoned at 12 noon to say it was bucketing down where he lives. I said, not here yet, but it's coming in from the west. "But I live to the east of you!" he reminded me!
It's been raining steadily in this neck of the woods since early afternoon: not particularly heavy, just consistent advective moderate rain of the type which saves having to go out with the watering can for the pots and containers, and percolates through top layers to get at the roots, rather than washing soil away, as is common with the more summer convective type of rainfall. Just great, with so little wind, to have been able to fling every window open, thus bringing down the sweltering temperatures that have made this flat pretty uncomfortable for all my efforts to keep in cool during the hot days.
It now looks as if the weather's not going to be too bad anywhere for the next week.
A band of rain originating from the SW' gradually making it' s rounds, methinks! Raining steadily all day yesterday, well,
more or less. Lousy and rather windy today. Summer, where has thou art gone?

Today, July 15th, mid-summer, maybe?
Well, oop 'ere, there is a complete whiteout: I cannot see the fells for thickening mist, rain, low visibility. It is 12C.
And our town is having a street festival. There are barely 30 people around the stands.
Certainly doesn't feel like mid summer! Not since the heatwave anyway!
Rather cloudy, somewhat humid, temperatures at midday around the 23 C mark, just enough gentle breeze to dry the washing & make it feel comfortable - to me seems like your average southern English, if not British, mid summer!
