We'll have to wait a couple more days before the weather changes, followed by a couple of wet and quite windy days, then we'll be into a regime of westerlies or southwesterlies bringing a breezy mix of funny periods (as me mum would say) and rainy spells - for everyone, with daytime temperatures back above 10 C, and no dangers of frosty nights. Should help scoop all those damp fallen leaves into convenient collection corners!
Not a good day down here. Miserable all day. Looks as though it’s dying to brighten up now, though.

Don't think we'll see that bright yellow object in the sky until Thursday, though, BBM!

7 degrees max here today - 2 below the mean, and I'm starting to get used to it!

Quite a plasant but cold day here today but the rest of the week does not look good!

Located where you are with a zonal weather pattern predominating at this time of the year will rarely look good, cloughie. But at least you will get to see the sun shining through the spray!

Bulletin 1: Roaring westerly, pulling at everything in house and garden, razing the fells, sometimes with punishing rain, but significantly less cold.

Bulletin 2 - an hour later: frightening power, roaring of winds the like of which I have rarely heard up here, and shoals of rain lashing like gravel at the windows.

More of the same here. I think we have the tale end of the storm

Lightning reported over Uckfield in the past hour - just east of your neck of the world, BBM!

There's a long story in there, somewhere.

                      Could well be, Bryn!

A rather nice day today. Will just have a cloud covering later.

Yeah? Well, here, and this is ominous, flocks of seagulls this far inland and high!

It was near warm enough this morning here to sunbathe. The first snowdrop in flower has been spotted by the front doorstep of one of the checkout ladies in the local Sainsbury's. Two bumblebees spotted on one of the quince bushes, and a yellow ladybird on a rose bush. "Please don't cut off the rose blooms!" cries an appreciative neighbour; but leaving them on is cruel as it saps strength from the plant at a time when it should be doing things other than making flower heads.

A sunny dry day which felt a tad chilly despite the direction of the wind. Bit sad that I was spending the day indoors, after all the wet recently limiting outside activity, but on the plus side it was to do a craft workshop and the room has big windows looking out onto an attractive courtyard area where birds were busy among the borders. Tomorrow apparently it will be very wet - so that'll make a change......

Plenty of rain in the offing, now that the jet stream has got its act together, for almost the first time this year, and is driiving the Atlantic depressions through unimpeded. Back to normality, in a big way!
