Nice thunderstorm ongoing here right now, though, BBM! Not much in the way of thunder, it has to be said, but of that, for some strange reason, none is registering on the Lightningmaps site. Maybe the registering positions have been closed down to save money!

The estimated consumption figure was way over either historical figures or the actual figure for the relevant quarter. The fact that I pay quarterly made it stand out. As I say, in recent years it hasn't happened in the same way, any summer overestimates have been small - but are corrected nonetheless as I don't like lending money for free to multimillion pound business. If I want to build up credit against the winter bills I'll do it in my own bank account!

Going from one extreme to another - alternating relentless wet, and frosty sunny dry. It's lovely to have the bright days but the carpe diem it encourages is making me even more disorganised than usual! Today the admin pile will be abandoned in favour of a bus to the city for art exhibitions, replenishment of coffee stocks, and a riverside walk.

Gorgeously bright blue sky here today, but frost on cars overnight.
Trip to the minster planned later for a Solemn Requiem (no giggling?): they're singing the Duruflé.
Then a pizza and some beer.
Well, it's Friday, and one of my Premium Bonds has come up (only £25 pounds, though!).

Must admit though, yes, we we haven’t had much rain here either.

SA we haven’t had much in the way of a storm for ages!

This is my experience too - one just has to make the most of beautiful days such as this one, and though I should be listing this month's jazz in the capital before the best gigs are all gone, today the 6-mile Ravensbourne riverside walk-cum-cycle path running from Beckenham to the Deptford Creek presents just too much of a temptation, at this time of the year especially.

Well, we're into November, and I still got away without a coat.

Absence of wind makes a big difference on cooler days, Joseph. The ironic thing is that I will have to put on a coat for this afternoon's ride, due to the fact that I effectively create my old wind chill, facing into a 15 mph breeze of my own making!

Overcast today, but this time the warmth is provided by a very mild wind.

Lovely down here today, and looks to continue on the warm side until mid-week. Slow down in the growth process means leaves dropping more slowly this year, and less autumnal tints, so yesterday's riverside ride was less impressive than anticipated, but lovely anyway, with the return journey through New Cross traffic jams less arduous than would otherwise have been the case. The roses are flowering longer too. But all this means that the eventual leaf fall is going to be much heavier and confined in time, making for many problems!

Absolutely teeming, nasty Sw wind driving it here.

It’s November in the Scottish Highlands. Just been out for a walk in shirtsleeves. First time since August!

Rather cloudy today, but very mild, which I wasn't expecting and so found myself slightly overdressed for the afternoon's round of errands. Made for a pleasant pottering interlude in the garden though, tidying up the remains of the toms, chucking windfalls back over the fence, and dealing with some cuttings.
