The weather is slightly cooler today. Thankfully. Today, going to be much the same, with a shower thrown in as well!

So we had Charles, Ann, Andrew and the Duke of Kent riding. I was wondering whether HM would be taking her usual place, as Prince Charles represented her at last year’s Remembrance Parade.
On the weather front, it's all change from Wednesday onwards, with a return to what until the recent past had always been our "typical" westerly pattern, and an end to the blocked, north-easterly type that has dominated for the past fortnight and indeed much of the year. It'll make a nice, refreshing change for all but the extreme NW of Scotland (no change there), and eventually (probably) bring much-needed rain to parched areas.

The BBC forecast was for cloud all day, so that was wrong again.

Originally posted by Serial_Apologist View PostThat may be because the storms over France of the past week or so have not massed into one big system today, and so there is less upper cloud outflow crossing the Channel. I've noticed what upper cloud there has been dissolving away here over London this afternoon. The forecasters have managed to get the bit right about storms developing across Scotland and the NE; it's been rumbling away east of the Pennines and north of a line E-W through Preston for much of the day.

The sun finally triumphed here at midday, so a pleasant summer afternoon - at last! It will be good if the current cold quarter weather shifts; it's bad enough being cold but when there's no sun or even blue sky for much of the time either it all gets a bit tiresome. There was some light rain during the night which has cleared the air and laid the dust(all over the cars thanks to our unmade road...), but some more would not go amiss.
