"Signing in" to use iplayer etc

I object to this. On several grounds, the expression for surrender of my personal data being only one. The others I'm not sure I have time to set out.

    What do y'all think?

I think I will be using the opt out button. However, it should be opt in, rather then opt out which is the choice.

If I don't sign in, I lose the ability I have now to pick up watching a programme from where I left off (it says here).

That must mean they've got quite a lot of information about me already.

Does anybody know if it will effect our friends living outside the UK who have been able to listen to radio broadcasts up to now while being stopped from watching TV ?

Don't see why it should. It doesn't seem that you have to sign in to listen to radio.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I was asked to sign in when trying to "listen again" to Through the Night. But could ignore it at the moment by simply clicking on "I'll do it later".

Yes - for the moment, we don't have to Sign In to access i-Player telly content. I presume that things will change "soon". How (if at all) Radio content will be affected when "soon" arrives ... ?

Funnily enough, I also clicked on Through The Night - no instruction to sign in.

They already know all about you, that's why!

Cheeky! Though it could be true as I've used my computer to communicate with them … so, somewhere in the depths …

Or it may just be that they haven't fully rolled out the Sign In system yet.
