    Happy Birthday, Martha Argerich!

Born 5 June, 1941 in Buenos Aires. One of the greatest pianists ever.
    Watch this:

You don't think Horowitz and Rachmaninov (not to mention Prokofiev) would not be impressed by this technical address?

Thank-you, Martha, for everything. I love you.

Sorry - only just saw it. I did initiate a thread about this on another forum yesterday, though. It seems impossible, does it not?! Hers is also one of the most unusual, individual and spectacular Rakhmaninov 3 recordings ever made, I think; I wonder what SVR himself would have thought of it...

            Ditto to this!

I know Argerich has a reputation as a serial canceller but I can truthfully that she has always made it to the concerts I've attended where she has been soloist.
