    FA Trophy quarter final

Stockport County 1 Maidstone United 1 Apparently competition rules state that the tie could have been decided today with extra time and pens if both teams had agreed beforehand,MU wanted the replay.
Good news, leaders Chorley lost today so we are now joint top having played the same number of games, next week at home to Spennymoor who are just 1 point behind in 3rd,MASSIVE game.

Sorry Alison but I had Palace to win today, the only result I got correct though

Unexpected draw on BBC Alba for the Buddies today - think we deserved it, though it did require an OG to get the point. Still bottom but crept a point closer to Dundee and Hamilton. Actually they didn't look too bad tonight, but we need wins now, not draws.

        Toon 2 Huddersfield 0

Toon looked good but against a very poor side ........

Which former Stockport County player played first-class cricket, was an England footie international and captained the Toon ..... ????

Good day out yesterday. Caught the British Museum's stunning Ashurbanipal show just in time before it closes and saw
Palace's great away result just before curtain went up to put us in a good mood for Akhnaten at ENO.

Looks like a straight fight between Saints and Cardiff for the last relegation place at the moment. Could change I suppose, but no obvious reason to think so. Brighton must be getting fidgety though.
                Not much longer indeed .....

                      The time had come.

I’d quite like back Nigel Pearson.

Don't think he is the fit they want there!

What bizarre scenes near the end of the League Cup Final, where Arrizabalaga refused to be subbed...Sarri wanted to bring Caballero (specialist penalty saver) on for the shoot-out but the Spanish International, world's-most-expensive-goalie refused point blank to leave the field....
At one point it looked like Sarri, who gave up trying to get him off, was about to walk out of the stadium himself! Looking very rattled (and no wonder) he came back to see City win the shootout, during which Kepa saved one, but let a soft one in as well....

Will they both go now? You'd imagine Chelsea would want to keep the keeper rather more...

I can't ever recall seeing a similar situation.... anyone?
                          Fascinating story for the week...

Then Sarri protected his player in the post match interview. Unprecedented in my experience.

I’m generally on the side of beleaguered managers until of course my own club is involved; heartily sick of Claude Puel and pleased to see him go.

Never seen anything like it but from that moment I knew the unmentionables would lift the cup.
Sarri was maybe going anyway if Chelsea didn’t win today.
