I've long thought it a good idea if 'nations' like Lichtenstein, San Marino and so on could occasionally play each other and so have a meaningful football match, in which they might manage to have a shot or even score a goal, as opposed to filling their own penalty area with all eleven players and hope to keep the score down.

Though I do remember San Marino scoring against England once !

The “minnows “are also guaranteed a spot at the Euro finals, which I think is a good idea.

        It is Moors, anton!

Fourth, three points off the summit, anton, can’t be bad, but can it last?

Gloucester City 0 Truro City 2

First win of the season, only way up now for sure!

Yes, in record breaking time...."Oh God, no"....it wasn't the best of nights, was it?
Despite scoring seven against San Marino in November 1993, England fail to qualify for the World Cup finals and suffer the humiliation of conceding a goal in...

Has anyone worked out The Nations League? You need a sort-of degree in it don't you...
Yet it goes on alongside friendlies.... ...

Where does it all end? Is it at that 10-City Finals in 2020...? Not sure whether to to to ...

"Fort William have been deducted nine points and fined £150 for fielding an ineligible player on three occasions.

The Claggan Park side, who sit bottom of the Highland League table without a point from their opening five games, were handed the penalty after fielding an ineligible player on three occasions.

Aiden Taylor, who has joined Fort on loan from Keith, played in three matches before the move was registered with the Scottish FA on August 15."

All I can say is that the Scottish FA are pretty mean. Let’s face it a minor misdemeanor of that degree was hardly likely to affect the fair play of the league! Then maybe Rangers would have called foul bearing in mind their severe treatment!

Fort only got beat 4-1 yesterday against Keith, so perhaps their ineligible signing brought some useful inside info to them...almost a victory by Fort William standards.

That's me set up for the weekend. A Friday night nil-nil versus 10 person Celtic at St Mirren 2021 Stadium is a total delight given the last few weeks in particular. Great start for our new manager, one Oran Kearney...I need to write it down so I can start to remember it. All the best for most of you Board Footie outfits out there this weekend!

The south coast Saints don’t play until monday....which makes the weekend four days long.

We were promised this back in the 70’s, what with the arrival of mass market computing and general technological advances.
                    Funny old world.
Well done Buddies, how lovely to have the weekend point (s) in the bag before last orders on Friday night.

Looks like English Championship is going to be a really tight table, cloughie. Hope your unbeaten run continues.

Thanks jc, a point from Celtic can’t be bad, you’ve played them at a good time in the season. I’ve no expectations from the Owls but maybe we have potential to suprise as the season grows.

Caleyjags currently riding high, Bulls in the doldrums (4 losses in last 5) - so often in recent years it was the other way round.

Kevin Beattie has died - he was only 64. I hope he wasn't too depressed by The Tractor Boys' current predicament.
