North Ferriby United, you mean? Yes, good grief, what's happened there? It would be great to see Rickie help them stay up - them or Gainsborough Trinity.

He'd have been far too nice a guy to fit in with Revie's assassins' bureau.

Further to my comment on Vardy which turned out to be spot on - Lukaku, Ritchie, Atsu etc......these people are "injured" for internationals and will be as right as rain next Saturday.

(Re Leeds, I believe I have Bremner's autograph somewhere but alas I never obtained one from Bite Yer Legs)

Why do you seek the monicas of Revie's cheats, allegedly! From Yorkshire's second city?

Well one takes it that Jimmy Floyd knows a great deal about scoring goals....he needs a proper plan to keep them out the other end....go the gas<whistle>

              I didn't meet Bremner.

A neighbour at the time who was a senior figure in the RAC obtained it for me at a "do".

The reference to Hunter was something of a joke.

As previously highlighted, my "big" northern team of preference is Newcastle United and my "big" Yorkshire team of preference is Sheffield Wednesday.

Although it is York City that is the northern/Yorkshire team I support.

(From memory, it is in red pen - I don't know what that says)

In view of this I think it absolutely shameful that the BBC chose to treat today as a Soccer-free day. Sure, England qualifying for the World Cup is great but the League/Non-league Pyramid surely is the building block that leads to the Prem cash cow!

Despite the break in Championship action for the Owls this weekend, you can still support your local team on Saturday 7 October by taking part in Non-League Day. The annual occasion encourages football supporters to visit one of their local non-league sides during the international break.

Yes, especially as York City have raced up to sixth place, some four places above Stockport and five above Darlo, albeit 11 points behind the mighty Harrogate Town.

Should push come to shove at the end of the season, I suggest a crown green bowls play off at Knareborough and tea at whichever Betty's happens to be victorious.

..and a year's supply of Yorkshire Gold! Truro City down to third but in with a chance next Saturday of getting through to the Cup proper.

I just think we should scrap the competitions each year and, on the grounds of fairness, place two clubs from each county into the proper leagues.

Starting with North Yorkshire and Cornwall.

(There are 46 in England, apparently, so that makes the 92 but we could expand it all a bit to include Cymru)

Left ourselves just too much to do after their awful start in the tournament, cloughie; or after losing that late Kane goal v England, 3 points which would have had us home and dry. Such is life...we need a Challenge Cup or something to keep us occupied for the next couple of years.
