Very pleased to see Newcastle Utd promoted. It is undoubtedly the best of the big northern clubs.

Sheffield Wednesday is second in that category. Good luck to that team. Plus well done Brighton.

Indeed Anton! Rafa was saying that The Championship is one of the most challenging leagues! Glad he stayed and reap the rewards at the end of the season!

              .
I'll second that. We sometimes used to go to to St James's Park when I was student at Durham several decades ago and I've always had a soft spot for them. Also very pleased for Chris Hughton ...... and ..... Brighton (gritted teeth in use for a Palace fan to say that). Hughton, of course, also had a part to play in Magpies' recent history, sacked by them as manager when they were 11th in the Premier League and having guided them to promotion back to the top league.

... Who's the biggest - our current points tally includes six at the expense of the Rafa's Toon, but the they're there and we still have it to do!

While I am in the South East, the compass in my head is very much on a line North East to South West, so much so that those are the only directions I will walk in now from my front door. Sometimes I worry that I am turning into Sheldon Cooper without his intelligence or Amy Farrah Fowler. Not that I'm keen on South West football beyond Bournemouth.

Yes indeed - even in this Mike Ashley era (but for how much longer?) - one key thought is that at the Finsbury Park Tavern (as it used to be) the Toon Army was the one visiting clan that was mainly friendly. For what it is worth, there are also some vague family connections to the area as I have mentioned before - not that any were actually born there.

Don't forget that in footballing terms, Gloucester City is in the north.

Yes quite - the way things are going it probably won't be long before they are playing York.

In that Bristol ish area of Britain, I prefer Forest Green for its idiosyncrasies - lime green colours, Dale Vince's organic pitch, vegan cuisine, robot mower incorporating GPS, solar panels, nicknames "The Green Army" and "The Little Club On The Hill", occasional support from Paul and Stella McCartney and its odd location (a place with a population of 5,800).

I also quite like Yeovil in footballing terms. It's just a shame that North Devon has so little.

Oh, I don't know. Bideford and Barnstaple are in the Evo-Stik Div. 1 SW.

Anyway, I'm moving to South Devon.

                          Did it float there?

Plans are approved that will enable a new football stadium for Gloucester City to be built, nine years after the club's ground was flooded.
