Even Palace are catching them up after their three points from the Forum derby Eagles v Saints. Palace are starting to pull themselves together a bit. Someone on Palace's Holmesdale Board summed up Palace's 2-1 victory as "unconvincing but comfortable". Commiserations to ts - Saints do look doomed. "Are Southampton on course to become Premier League's worst ever team?" asked the BBC.
We are deservedly bottom, but this squad ought to to have enough about it to reach a vaguely respectable total. A mediocre ( at best) team and a run of bad luck on key Var ( non) decisions is a bad combo.

Eagles gradually getting back on track. Owls flying, Buddies undecided.
    Happy New Year footy fans.

…and to you ts, better fortune in second half of season and hope we can keep Shea - he’s a midfield pearl for us!

          Yet another defeat

Aston Villa 2 Leicester City 1

A solid enough performance by all accounts marred by two unforced defensive errors.

Another humiliation today, not quite ad bad as the spurs fiasco, but almost. Devoid of almost everything that a good football team needs.
Brentford not flattered by the scoreline. We were missing our best two midfielders, but that is no excuse for a performance as poor as todays.

so-so results at best for other forum teams, barring Toon.
the darkest hour etc etc ( other platitudes are available)……

Could have done with another Windass special to get all the points Cloughie. What a goal that was.

He should have taken the penalty in the first half which would have put us 2 up. I think we are what we are - one of a number of Champ sides that could with a bit of luck sneak into 6th and crash the playoffs, but probably won’t - doesn’t stop us hoping!

Celts 3 Saints zilch ...could've been worse. Down to sixth - all getting very congested mid-table. That's the firm out of the way for a while hopefully, so maybe we can pick up a few points and get back on track.
