Hooray! A 99th minute retaken penalty gave the Buddies all the points in a five-goal thriller in Perth this afternoon. Bounced back into the top half of the table for the moment, but it's pretty tight in there.

Once reserve goalkeeper Danny Ward came on at half time City supporters knew the game was up. A spark of realism after Ruud had steadied the ship for two home games.

        Newcastle 4 Leicester 0

        Wolves at home next weekend.

Great happy ending for 3 points jc.

          Ruud awakening for Foxes, Alison!

          Oxford 1 Owls 3

Away form reaping rewards again - up to 9th but inconsistency seems to rule, maybe that’s the excitement of playing in the Championship

anton - Don’t know if you’ve seen it but in today’s i paper Jeff Stelling had the Guest Columnist page - after his retirement from Sky he looked at what he should do with his Saturdays - after looking at a few things - still dissatisfied he now follows the Hangers ( who, you probably know, is a lifetime fan) home and away, and finds the intimacy of Nat League grounds more to hos liking that the impersonal nature of larger league grounds! It rather struck me that at 69 he is a mere youngsterp cf the more advanced years of the Hangers boss.

The ill-named M23 Derby awaits us today. Brighton have undeniably started better than Palace but some grounds for hope: Last season they faded quite badly and Palace ended up just above them in the final league table.

                They've just sacked their manager.

I need to watch the comedy own goal!
My partner decided not to go (recent trips have been grim both on the train there and back, and once there!).

Celebration in the gurney household this evening, I suspect.

A win was needed, and sweet to get it at Brighton (and Hove). Palace were the better team. Annoying own goal and Nketiah should have made it 4.

An epic new low point in Saints season tonight , which can’t really be said to be unravelling, as it wasn”t really ravelled at any point.
The first 45 was as bad as anything I can ever remember seeing. Completely devoid of , well , anything good really. Only Russell Martin could survive 5 points from 15, so I guess he’ll survive this. Good candidates won’t exactly be queuing up. If he goes, Lallana as a stand in and then possibly Cooper, are solid bets, because we will be recruiting in the Championship pool of talent.
I wasn’t there, but sooner or later I’ll have to go to a game.
well done to the Eagles and the Paisley Saints, and anybody else who got a decent result.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

Which no doubt you’ll plunder Blades style from your parachute bunce. The EFL should outlaw this as part of their play fair rules! Let’s hope that whoever is in charge of you in the Jaunary window will think Shea will be a better bet with him gaining a full season in the Championship!

Season long loans can usually only be recalled with the agreement of both clubs I think. Charles needs a full season in the Championship, in any case.

There is no fair play in the fair play rules for anybody. The finance problem that Engliah football has is that putting together a competitive mid table PL squad require a budget of £150m plus, and relegation is a cliff edge financial calamity . I wish it wasn’t thus.

Not much change there then. And ironically there are reports of an approach being made to the Owls' Danny Rohl.
