I know that complaints about poor refereeing are legion, especially when one feels aggrieved that the team you support is disadvantaged, but (according to my partner, who was at yesterday's Wolves v Everton match) there was no reason to give nine minutes of second-half extra time (which apparently went on even longer than that) other than not to be seen as the referee who was responsible for Everton's relegation.
My partner wondered if, had Everton not scored, the match would still have been going on by the time he eventually got back home (about 9pm).

Much agreed, Alison...good luck tomorrow evening...looks like you'll need a lot of it after Forest's escape yesterday, and Everton's late, late, late point.

          Fantastic comeback Cloughers.
It’s never over ‘til it’s over - the irony of the final is that I was born and raised living half way between Hillsborough and Oakwell - the first match I went to was Barnsley v Posh and though I have always been an Owl Barnsley very much my ‘second team’ which over the years has been no problem. In the 90s when for one season we were both in the Prem, Owls beat Barnsley thanks to a late goal by The great Paulo DiCanio. A late winner for us at Wembley will suit me fine!
The foxes need to be very cunning now,
jc - good result for you and a good season overall. I wonder if Bully is on the phone to Darren for 2nd Leg Comeback Masterclass!

Nothing new under the sun, Pulcers.
Arsenal equalised in the 9 minute of injury time added on because Paul Davis broke Glen Cockerills Jaw ……

There seems to be a popular feeling that Everton are well overdue a relegation.

Didn't matter, cloughie. Bully's Honest Men were well gubbed by the Jags last night - now the Maryhill Magyars () go into the Premier play-off final with, probably, Ross County. So it'll be the Jaggies versus the Staggies.

Bring back the Anglo Scottish and Texaco cup I say..fine competitions !! ( the Hampshire Saints seeing off Rangers over two legs on one occasion).

Actually, I have often thought that it would be good to merge the league cups of both countries to create a British cup.

Sorry, Alison...your crew left themselves too much to do. Everton jammy again - Dyche has to take some credit. We got stuffed by the teddy bears this weekend and finish 6th, four points behind the team that finished seventh. Also sorry to see that Stockport didn't manage to go up...it's all down to the Owls to save the weekend. Best of fortune to your lads tomorrow, cloughie.

Bad luck Alison, a rather quick fall from grace for the Foxes. Saints were relegated two seasins after our last FA cup final. At least your lot have two trophies to reminisce about .

Barnsley down to ten men at Wemblers!

Well justice was done, after Wednesday were clearly in the three best teams.

I’m sure Cloughie will celebrate in traditional style.
