Palace Brentford was a rather frustrating watch. Had its moments with plenty of effort on both sides but not enough to trouble goalies. Great opening goal from Wilf Zaha but Palace couldn't defend the lead with Brentford's man heading in unmarked in the 88th min. Brentford should probably have nicked it right at the end which would have sent me to bed thoroughly rather than just slightly disgruntled.

Saints had a surprisingly straightforward evening against Chelsea.
We were opened up too easily a couple of times before their opener, but after tye equaliser we were in control and pretty comfortable until the inevitable last 10 minute seige.
I think we have found some gens in the new signings, and with a fair wind may well be ok this season. Chelsea were, it has to be said, pretty mediocre in the main, but still a good scalp for us.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
