      Sorry to see Burnley go.
Saints feeble conclusion to the season wrapped up in appropriate fashion against Alison’s lot.

I sense a summer of considerable upheaval at SMS, and it needs to be well managed, because we are only heading one way.

However, happier news from our Women’s team, who are promoted to the Championship after winning a playoff against Wolves.
TBH, the champions from each of the southern and northern sections should be promoted, a playoff defeat after winning your league must be very hard to take.

Funny old season for Foxes. We’ve at least ended at the top of the mid table mini league.

Could you see you coming back at 2-1 Sainty.

I’m more than usually ready for a break from it all.

What an amazing final PL day it was, on so many layers. I almost felt sorry for Liverpool supporters, who must’ve thought they had the trophy in the bag, before Manchester City scored those quick 3 goals.
I was disappointed that Burnley were relegated.
Manchester Utd qualifying for the Europa League was a strange turn of events, despite having had a very poor season by their standards.

And the late tussle for the Golden Boot…

Good win for Palace v Man U. No doubt it was pleasing for Zaha to score the winner against the team that rejected him.
Annoying to let a 2-0 lead slip against Everton. Those three points would have given us a top half finish on goal difference. Their first positive GD Premier league finish.
Satisfactory along the way to take four points off eventual League champions.

Is it just me, or have Saints shrugged off the mantle of "team most likely to turn a winning position into a losing position" simply by taking a losing position as early on as possible? You're right about the need for upheaval at SMS, but I do worry that even with new blood in central midfield... I mean central midfield and defence... I mean central midfield, defence and attack, it's still going to be a case of teams seemingly picked by drawing names out of a hat, and a passive approach to game management. I'm afraid that I think RH may (need to) be on his way out, maybe depending on whether results in early 2022-23 go his way. Still, I don't like calling for managerial heads, and I'd love him to discover some kind of magic wand.

Not sure how Liverpool lost that, they did nothing wrong really.
Cracking game earlier too, Wrexham 4 Grimsby 5, great advert for the National League which of course my team are no longer part of

                  Just one word: Courtois.

Wrexham’s loss of steam has come at the wrong time!

Solihull maybe in the League - whatever next? …and derbies with Walsall?

If Courtois had not been on toppest top form, L'pool would have won 4-1. Real M had ONE serious shot on goal, and scored.

Worth having a look at Dario Essugo's cracker for Portugal under 17s.
Watch Portugal's Dário Essugo score an "utterly incredible" goal against France in the men's U17 Euros semi-final.

Big game at Hampden this evening where Scotland take on Ukraine in the World Cup Qualifying semi. I imagine that only us Scots (and Putin's pals) want us to win...I reckon the rest of the world is hoping for a result for the Ukrainians...including former captain, Souness, I notice. The prize is a game against Wales this Sunday, for the last World Cup spot in Qatar. We've got a few injuries, but hopefully we can progress to Cardiff.

Well, I want Scotland to win, though if Ukraine were to qualify, I’d want them to do well.

Oh well, another four years down the plughole. Wonder if I'll ever see Scotland get to the World Cup finals? Now Wales have to face up to the Ukrainians - reckon they'd rather have played Scotland. Hope they have better fortune.
