The Buddies didn't go pointless in the first game back after the break. 2-1 versus Dunders United at Tannadice...ninth.
Nice on jc - yes saw Pointless.

And edge, that’s a whacking jump up the table - lowly Maidenhead done you a favour by beating the Spirites too. The summit is yours for the taking on current form!

          Foxes 2 Spurs 3

A catastrophic final minute and a half. Painful.

Yes, I thought it was just the Owls that did that!

Buddies are heading down to Somerset Park in Ayr for a third-round Scottish Cup game - tough wee game, but hopefully, buoyed by the mid-week win, the Saints can squeeze past the Honest Men. Good fortune to all the forum teams today.

Wonderful win against the Arsenal midweek, with at least 5 first teamers missing, lovely flowing football from the youngsters and those playing out-of-position.... Jones, Kaide Gordon, Nico Williams did wonderfully well...Trent-Alex is almost a veteran now!
Kelleher much more than a no.2 keeper - Klopp has promised him the final. Fabinho outstanding in a new more dominant role.

EFL final 27/02 against Chelsea! Something to look forward to....!

A feature of Klopp's regime is how soon he gives the Academy teens a chance in the first team...our current owners are very supportive of this approach too...

Interesting to see what happens when those 3 African Stars return...

Fairly comfy 2-0 gets the Buddies in the hat for the fourth round.

Dagenham & Redbridge 0 Stockport County 2 Well that was easier than I had anticipated, basically won it in the first 5 mins then had an 85 minute training session
Maidenhead on Tuesday who as it happens have beaten the top 2 this week

You’re right anton should indeed be winning these, having taken the lead twice!

                        Oxford 3 Owls 2

jc - looks like you saw off Lee’s Ayr but from his comments looks like he’s more concerned about improving his league position!

edge - tempting fate you could go top mid-week!

Happy days for your lot ER.

An absolutely cracking game at SMS today. Saints spent a lot of the game trying to keep some defensive shape against a team who make it ridiculously hard for their opponents to get or keep the ball.
However, we did well with what possession we did get , fashioning a number of good chances, and mostly managing to keep city at bay. A point each was fair enough , and means we will be unbeaten against them in the league.
Stars for Saints were Salisu, who looks more and more like a very astute buy, and Fraser Forster.

Hopefully today will be the final outing for vaccine passports at football , ( and everywhere) before they are rightfully dumped in the dustbin of history with no tears shed.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

We've drawn the classic banana skin with a fourth round tie against Kelty Hearts from Fife, who vanquished the off-form cupholders, Perth Saints. Fortunately we've got the home draw...at least I hope it's fortune.

Palace have their chances of getting a point v Liverpool snatched away by a dodgy penalty decision. It would have been deserved after second-half fightback. I shall be crying into my soup tonight.
