A good old fashioned cup tie to say the very least.

      Lovely old ground.

Yes the way to play a replay - I hope the Owls management and players were watching and learning!

Full concentration for more than 80 minutes would help!

All hail to the great David Lacey!

The first writer to truly awaken me to The Art of Sports Journalism... I still turn to the Sports Pages first each day, unless The Apocalypse is upon us...(quite often just recently.......thank god for football....and F1 of course...."escape, escape" etc.....but then, you read about.... Cricket...)...

I recall Bobby Robson saying that David's was the first report he would look for after each England match...how much he respected his critiques, and learned from them.

Modern day successors.... for me, Barney Ronay and Jonathan Liew....

Meant to mark the death last week of the great Bertie Auld, the midfield maestro of Celtic's Lisbon Lions. I seem to recall that he was the only person in the cup-winning team that Stein paid money for...my memory says £34,000... A very funny, entertaining joker whose heart was in football.

I think Jim Craig, Bobby Lennox, John Clark and Stevie Chalmers are still around, anton. All members of the team were born within 30 miles of Celtic Park. Auld was always great value when he turned up in the media - I loved when he was manager of the Jags as there were always great post-match comments.

Here's Bertie with an unlikely visitor to Celtic Park's trophy room and two gags about false teeth. By the way, I have no idea what Bertie's's saying half the time either.
When Ronnie Met Bertie... ??Lisbon Lion and huge snooker fan Bertie Auld was right on cue to greet 'The Rocket' Ronnie O'Sullivan when he visited Paradise ...
