Come on G., find that Sting again (see what I did there?)...

Gareth you did it! Deep into added-added time...!
Fantastic game, breathless last ten minutes....but wonderful commitment from both teams in an intense atmosphere (as often this week...)....
Great refereeing too, in that late penalty area bust-up - calmed it down, booked a few, play on....excellent.

(More pens missed than scored in Euros so far, commentary just commented...)
Hero to Zero: a 6-part children's TV drama broadcast in 2000 about a young boy named Charlie Brice who has many adventures while receiving advice from footballer Michael Owen. IMDb rating a very respectable 7.1.

Locatelli calling the tune and pulling the strings.

      Italy looking awfully good.

That's awfully decent of you, old chap, if you don't mind me (for posh readers: my) saying so. I'm happy to place on record that I, too, would not dream of perpetrating such an imposition.
My Mum says the doctor has forbidden me to watch footie again until I calm down and stop banging on about the 1978 FA Cup Final. I still wake up in a cold sweat some nights, convinced that Osborne fired wide and Arsenal scored 5 goals in the last 7 minutes.
Ipswich fielded 2 Scotsmen and 9 Englishmen.
Nobel laureate Peter Handke's 'Die Angst des Tormanns beim Elfmeter', in which the taking of a penalty plays a significant part, was filmed in 1972 by Wim Wenders. Handke and Wenders have been friends and collaborators for many years.
If you fancy watching the film, it can be rented or purchased on Amazon Prime's 'ARTHAUS+' channel - sadly, no subtitles.

                          So far for me :

                          1) Schick (v Scotland)
                          2) Yarmolenko (v Nederland)
                          3) De Bruyne

Felt sorry for the noble Princes of Denmark, so much commitment but couldn't quite cope with such gifts and (when Belgium recovered from the first half onslaught) teamwork... almost levelled at the end.... hope they make it through as a best 3rd.

What about Les Stades? My favourite has to be the towering Gazprom in St Petersburg, rearing up from the touchline in operatic homage to the legendary Bernabeu...

(One might be a little naughty and say: Nice Video, shame about the Song...)
