My Mum says the doctor has forbidden me to watch footie again until I calm down and stop banging on about the 1978 FA Cup Final. I still wake up in a cold sweat some nights, convinced that Osborne fired wide and Arsenal scored 5 goals in the last 7 minutes.
Ipswich fielded 2 Scotsmen and 9 Englishmen.
Nobel laureate Peter Handke's 'Die Angst des Tormanns beim Elfmeter', in which the taking of a penalty plays a significant part, was filmed in 1972 by Wim Wenders. Handke and Wenders have been friends and collaborators for many years.
If you fancy watching the film, it can be rented or purchased on Amazon Prime's 'ARTHAUS+' channel - sadly, no subtitles.Last edited by LMcD; 17-06-21, 07:07.

Felt sorry for the noble Princes of Denmark, so much commitment but couldn't quite cope with such gifts and (when Belgium recovered from the first half onslaught) teamwork... almost levelled at the end.... hope they make it through as a best 3rd.
What about Les Stades? My favourite has to be the towering Gazprom in St Petersburg, rearing up from the touchline in operatic homage to the legendary Bernabeu...
(One might be a little naughty and say: Nice Video, shame about the Song...)Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 17-06-21, 19:06.

I have seen that stadium but only from the outside, it's very impressive“Music is the best means we have of digesting time." — Igor Stravinsky
