Congrats to St Johnstone who became only the second team outside of the Firm to hold both cups in Scotland in one season (Sir Eck's Aberdeen were the others back in the eighties). On Saturday the Perth Saints never looked in any danger against a wobbly Hibernian. What a season for Callum Davidson in his first as a manager - created a team spirit and a solid defence at McDiarmid Park. 'All downhill from here' I try to tell my St Johnstone friends...don't want them getting too up themselves.

Football authorities should have done better, ts.

I'm no lover of Dundee footie team - it's a ground which is rubbish to go to when you're an away fan. However I was glad to see them, Charlie Adam inspired, beat Killie in the play-offs and go up into the top tier. That means that the SPL has now relegated two plastic pitches to the championship with Hamilton also gone; so from that perspective, glad to see Killie go. Even on a crappy pitch, Adam still looked classy with the ball at his feet; the fact that he cannae run anymore is immaterial.

Good to see Charlie still pulling the strings in midfield. He is a really talented player IMO, and has interesting things to say when he is allowed out. I think he'll make a good career in the game or the media when he is done playing.

Vague memories (not good ones) of such a pitch when we went to see the 'Atters years ago. It wasn't a Palace match - Luton is the local team of my sister and family who we were visiting for Christmas. Kenilworth Rd is a strange ground at the best of times. I think it was when away fans were banned and getting in was like entering Fort Knox.

Bad luck Swans, but well done Bees, finally made it after so much heartbreak! Such character to keep at it, keep coming back...

So now they're in the Prem, with a charismatic manager to boot...ve-ry interesting.... keeping the squad together, I imagine they might follow Leeds' example.... just play out and play for fun...

As for the CL final tonight.... all I'm hoping for is drama and controversy..... or even another 21-penalty shootout....!

Another cagey final? NOT!

Brilliantly fast, open CL final, Chelsea just deserving their 1-0 lead.... terrific through ball from Mason Mount to Havertz for the goal (do it for England next month, Mase!)...

I thought at the start, just don't give the Prem champs an early lead....
And Chelsea didn't, playing very well; this sets up the 2ndhalf very nicely for the neutrals.....terrific atmosphere in the Estadio do Dragao...

I don't think it will end 1-0 though....

Why the hell have they got a system which includes more than 4 in the playoffs - Bromley at 7th shouldn’t be there!
Anyway it will be good if a form team can return to the league and I think that most of us here will not takes sides anton v edge.

Textbook defensive display from Chelsea. A shame that the injury to de Bruyne had an impact, but city really failed to hurt Chelsea at any stage.
Not a classic, but certainly kept even the neutral on the edge of the seat, and the best move of the game won it, which is always good.
Fashion note : light blue against royal blue is deeply unsatisfactory........

It allows and advantage to the higher placed teams.
I think there should be more advantage built in to the playoffs, eg one legged semi finals with home advantage for the two highest placed teams.
