Yes Mario, terrible development....check out the MotD discussion here -
No punches pulled thank god - surely the reactions will derail this - we need players & managers to speak out!
Uefa and the Premier League have strongly condemned 12 major European clubs, including the 'big six' from England, signing up to a breakaway European Super League.
I love European Football above all other, but this plan would ruin the whole tradition, so long and rich as it is...
(PS - rooting for Foxes at Wembley here too)...Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 19-04-21, 03:03.

Wasn't this (sadly) inevitable - a relegation-free international version of the English Premier League? I leave it to others with a much greater understanding of the game to decide whether, and if so to what extent, UEFA are at least partly to blame. It seems to me that, if the Champions League is expanded much further, we can look forward to enjoying European Night at Portman Road and Hillsborough.

As to the new European Big Boys Overpaid, Elite, Greed-laden League - let them get on with it and let’s get a bit more reality elsewhere!

So seriously guys, I need a new team to support.
(Heresy coming up…) It could’ve been Liverpool, but no more. Heretics!
Lived in London for some 34 years, so maybe when in Bayswater W. London, close to Chelsea? Nope! Heretics!
Next was Kingston-upon-Thames, so maybe Kingstonians – a real possibility! Need to investigate further.
A premiership team? Fulham in W London – but, Sheikh al-Fayed, and THAT Jackson statue? And soon to be relegated?
Aberdeen because of dear, dear Fergie? Possibly, but an English team please!
Who else? Help!

TOTAL, capitalist betrayal by grabber-owners, stuff the fans / the communities have bred/ sustained and championed their clubs.
BBC Rad 5 live was incandescent last night and willl be today.

I hope you’re right DracoM, but somehow doubt it.
These might be “bottle merchants”, as Gary Neville called them, but they’re not stupid. Bet you they’ve already got suitors who are willing to sink millions of advertising revenue in this.
As for my new team, well, there’s dear ts’s team of course, an honest-to-goodness football team that I remember from McMenemy’s time – but they do insist on selling
their best players don’t they?
And I’d be a bit of a hypocrite to choose a team who’s city I’ve NEVER set foot in, wouldn’t I?
