Another deeply dispiriting experience for fans of South London's Number One, losing 2-0 to Wolves. Missed a good chance to take the lead then a crazily misplaced defensive pass led to Wolves scoring.

The ideal result for Bbm methinks.

For some reason that made me think of someone's description of Waiting for Godot where "nothing happens - twice".

Some interesting looking fixtures in the National League playoffs today.
Notts County looking to get back into the league at the first attempt. And Wemouth going for glory on NLS. The fifth tier really should be minimum expectation for them with their catchment area. Opponents Dorking must be at an all time high contesting this fixture, not one of the traditional non league big hitters.

Talking of which, feel free to list your football underachievers.

Guildford are an obvious one in these parts. And i’d say Winchester City, though they have produced the odd future England player way back when.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Very good result for Harrogate Town: 1:0 v Boreham Wood, now due to play either Notts County or Barnet at Wembley on 2 August. Hgate are a well supported club but I'm not sure I fancy their chances against County, though.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Harrogate seem to have had a good run in recent years ? All went pear shaped for York City today though

How times change. Saints had some good tussles with County in The top flight back in the 80s. And York City ended our 16 game unbeaten run in div 2 in the season we won the cup.

Havant and Waterlooville lost out. They seem to specialise in falling just short.

Could have been us playing Notts for a place in the final

If we’d had a better September run of results thus boosting our points per game average,if Barnet had played all their games in hand and lost them,if if but....
