Yes.... many subplots.... Current Premiership Champions vs previous..... current European Champions vs potential next, but but but!!!......
....City disqualified from next season's CL....(pending appeal etc.)....
It might get fierce tonight....... I'll have to get that walk in early....then my fond tradition: glass of cognac, glass of water.... evening kickoff....

Hoping for a cracker tonight.
Chelsea / West Ham was broadly a test of who would defend worst, and Alonso put the tin lid on it with a complete dereliction of duty to allow the winner. One of the shoddiest pieces of work I have seen in a long time.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Hmmmmm...that cognac bottle might be emptying quickly.
Pretty even until the Liverpool defence imploded. Robertson having a shocker . Where on earth was he for the second ? And another mistake for the third. Pretty untypical of him.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I hadn't seen the film 'Marvellous' when it was first shown, but Mrs C and I watched it this week on the Beeb, and what a great watch it was. Toby Jones plays lifelong Stoke City fan, Neil Baldwin. Inspirational and uplifting is how it's described and that seems fair enough to me...and very entertaining. There are also cameos from Neil himself, Lineker, Rennie and Macari, by the way. Well worth tuning in if you want to escape the cut-and-thrust of the Premier Division/Championship...or even if you don't.

A great example of what you can get by doing all the right things, and having the odd break go for you. Saints did the thing you have to do, which is when all else fails, throw bodies in the way.
That said, RH has turned this team into a really decent unit, who have plenty of threat . And the defence , not exactly made up of big money signings, has brcome steadily more reliable and, critically, less prone to unforced errors.
Saints fans are really thrilled for Adams, who can definitely go on to be a good PL performer. And Walker Peters is playing so well, could easily have been MOM . Signing him must be a priority.
Mathematical safety, and it is still only the first week in July...
( actually, it must have been a good watch for the neutral ?)I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
