Most excellent eighto ...... my son has all his life had a soft spot for Toon nearlynumber9s ..... who else would have asked Santa for a Shola Ameobi No.23 football shirt .... anyway he took me to see Joe, his new hero, in a cup game and he looked like a wide player filling in as a centre forward ...... but he did score that night and commendably doesn’t hide giving 100% .... the Geordie wags are saying his improvement is down to the crowd not being there to get on his back ...... He’s obviously not Danny Ings yet but he was getting into, what I believe are called, the right areas ....

That's very interesting, anton...I hadn't thought about some players benefiting from playing behind closed doors.

....remember Spurs prior to Harry Kane....the procession over 10+ years of lousy kick the turf, trip over anything but score strikers....Fraizer Campbell. Saha, Rasiak, Postiga, Jensen, Vega, Roberto Soldaldo....

....maybe it is down to systems....you may flourish at a club because ???/....but somewhere else ¬¬^<9/)¬¬

....Yes Danny Ings !! Wallop get in there

Liverpool scored four crackin' goals last night - loved the first touch pass by Salla to Mane, in particular, but they were all great...(with apologies to certain Eagles' fans in our midst!)

The big boys well and truly back in charge last night. Martial’s 3 rd goal was a thing of beauty.

The late equaliser at St James Park may yet be vital.

Well done Liverpool,a thoroughly deserved title.
                Well pleased for our Jayne

Still plenty of Forum teams left in the FA cup so maybe a clean domestic sweep of trophies this season.

Our season's over and the late pre-covid win versus Hearts proved even more important than I thought. Who knows what'll happen with the Buddies next season. Well done, Liverpool...I've loved watching them this last couple of seasons and glad to see they picked up the title nice and early-ish!

Liverpool Premier League Champions 2020 At last.....oh my....so, so long to wait....
European Champions 2019. Club World Champions 2019.

Celebrations outside? No pubs, no bars, so slightly subdued garden drinks and singalongs..... then the car horns and fireworks burst out - like New Years Eve for a while..!... quiet now.

Quietly happy after (more than a few!) tears... we all had a lot to let out and reflect upon... this City always lived, and agonised over and through, its football... WE ARE LIVERPOOL...THIS MEANS MORE...MORE THAN EVER NOW... matters of Life and Death are the sobering backdrop...
                    YNWA

(But like Jamie Carragher I cracked open my own bottle of Moët & quaffed it solo.... (saved some for breakfast though...........)

                    In Klopp We Trust...

In the rather crazy world of modern elite football, where money comes first , second and third, Klopp and his side have been a real credit to the city and the club. They play wonderful football in a fine spirit, and I am very glad they will get their just rewards at last.
It doesn’t much bother me who wins the league in general, but better that the big clubs take their turn, and as one of many who admired the fabulous Liverpool sides of the 70s and 80s*, 30 years seems impossibly long.
I’m sure the club will organise a fitting opportunity for the fans, in a great football city where it means so much, to have their day.

Will Anfield be raising a statue to the Chelsea manager in grateful recognition?

Best of fortune to the Foxes and Newcastle today...oh yes, and the Southern Saints too, of course. No footie up here for a while...we're having to put up with repeats, and repeats of repeats (there's not many glorious moments to recall about Scottish football to go round); oh yes, and there's a repeat of the documentary about our favourite Highland League Team, The Fort.
