Not so good for the Toon, but the magic of the cup lives on for League One and Two for now at any rate with Northampton, Coventry, Shrewsbury and Oxford all claiming replays....and may the balls come out of the bowl in good order this evening!

The Buddies raced to a very unlikely two-goal lead v Hibs yesterday, but couldn't hold it and were back level by half time. That was the end of the scoring. Would have taken a 2-2 at 3pm so pleased that we didn't blow it. Third from bottom, three points clear of Hearts and Hamilton (who face Celtic today). We've got Hamilton mid-week, so a six-pointer if ever there was one.

A few long faces for the forum fans this weekend.

              We got the inevitable defeat.

Because always lose when Kevin Bloody Friend is reffing , the useless biased ******. ******** *******

Probably just as well he pitched up away at Liverpool rather than in a winnable game. In fact he is so hopeless that he even managed to not give them a penalty for Shane Long’s two handed grab before failing to give us an obvious pen, and apparently giving everything 50/50 to the home team.

Hey ho, its the magic of the cup this week, hope spuds left it all on the pitch this afternoon. Incidentally, if I see a better penalty incident this season than the one today at White Hart Tottenham Hotspur stadium Lane this season , I will be very happy.
              Fantastic stuff.

Let's hear it for Fort William, who secured a point away from home in a 2-2 draw at Deveronvale.
The Tractor Boys did quite well in their match, coming 2nd to Peterborough and scoring only 3 goals fewer than the visitors.

                    AFC Fylde 1 v Boreham Wood 2

The usual story this season at Mill Farm with Fylde making lots of chances but couldn't put them away. Boreham Wood, who are on a decent unbeaten run, didn't play as well as I expected but were sharp up front when it mattered. It's early days but Fylde's new signings certainly don't seem any better than those they replaced.

In spite of all the big talk from the owner the spectre of relegation looms large. After several years of success going up and up through the leagues, Fylde's owner and chairman David Haythornthwaite's long-term bid to be in the Football League by 2022 looks increasingly remote.

Annoyingly, the Palace goalie, Vicente Guaita, otherwise pretty reliable, dropped the ball over the line for an og which lost us the match v Sheff U. Bad day also for Scottish rugby fans - Stuart Hogg was similarly careless in failing to ground the ball and score a try against Ireland.

For the Hangers it’s, sadly, a permanent fact of life Stan .......

Sounded like a great cup tie at spuds, but the winning penalty was a dive, which VAR inexplicably failed to overturn .

And JWP carried off with a nasty looking knock ********

Got a draw out of the six-pointer - don't know why we can't put Hamilton to the sword. Hearts lost too, so still third bottom. Cup next on Saturday v Motherwell - tough one; but not a six-pointer.

Well the equaliser at least is worth a lot, and The Jambos lost. Goal difference is good, ( or less bad) and suggests a good chance of survival.

Great equaliser right enough, sainty, but glad to see Hamilton make a total pig's ear of their penalty after the Saints' defender missed the ball he was aiming for and caught the Hamilton forward's bahookie instead. How we laughed...after they missed it.
