Well done Buddies, jc. Shame that Charlton won the Div One playoff final.

Thanks all. It was a rather tense afternoon. My Sis is home from Vanuatu and we were having a big family get together with an ear on the game, and eventually both.
One of the great adages in football is that decisions balance out over the season, and I said to my Brother that Utd's missed penalties was the balance redrawn after Rangers were awarded 4 penalties against the Buddies at Ibrox earlier in the season - a total outrage that smacked of brown envelopes, but today felt like we got a repayment. I feel for Utd, but I think the Saints deserved the win over the two legs. Hopefully Kearney will stay - I like his attitude. He's managed to retain his cool in difficult situations. I was also delighted by our goalie, Vaclav Hladky, who has had a great last few games and once again had a fine game. I have to say that I can't imagine Livingstone or Hamilton having as good a season next year so I hope we can get a move up the pecking order next time round...famous last words. Disappointed that Jack Ross didn't manage to take Sunderland up...hope they keep him on. Women's World Cup next!

My son has been at Wembley and is there today for all 3 of the play-offs finals. Today's Championship play-off final between Aston Villa v Derby is mouth-watering. When I watched their semi-finals I was amazed by the speed of the play and the fitness off the players. I wouldn't like to call this one. May the best team win!

I shall hopefully be in Dresden for the Champions league final - so sadly I might miss watching the actual game.

I see that The Toon are finally sold by that underinvested Mike Ashley! Yes! Even though it’s for a paltry £350m!!! Going to be sold to another Arab Sheikh. This one is a cousin to the owner of the unmentionables! The new owner is Sheikh Khaled bin Zahed al Negayen, a senior figure of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family. His first job will be to make a new five year contract with Rafa! More funds will also be made available to the club too to bolster the already underinvestment by Ashley! A new golden era for the club now? I do hope so.

I don't know what was wrong with the 'Sports Direct Arena' sounded much better than 'St James' Park'.

I didn't particularly favour Derby or Aston Villa today, but delighted to see former Buddy, John McGinn, net the winner. Great to have him in the English Premier division while his two brothers helped keep the Buddies in the Scottish Premiership.

A playoff winning side assembled by Steve Bruce gives me hope for next season.

The poverty-stricken club that struggled for many decades under the shadow of Manchester United, dropped to the third tier, but fought back and returned to the Premier League, only to be relegated and promoted once more, before settling for mid-table respectability. Then they were lucky and 'did a Chelsea' being bought by a wealthy owner. Overnight, they were despised, developing into a world class team under Pep.
