Palace had the beating of Spurs in the first half. A draw would not have been undeserved. It was decided on one good shot from Eriksen. Worse than the defeat was the injury to Sakho.

Thanks Rob. Buddies weren't playing last night but Hibs showing 10 changes from Saturday's semi-final defeat in the Scottish Cup squeezed a 93rd minute 3-2 win versus Raith Rovers. Big relief and makes our weekend game v Raith an all-to-play-for. Come on the Buddies.

I must have been watching a different game last night. Bad injury to Sakho. He’ll be out for a while. I hear he’s refusing wages while he can’t play - for moral reasons.

Good to see that Eriksen is turning his last minute fire power on some other hapless defence for a change. ( sorry Gurney).
            The man's a public nuisance.

                  Very disappointing.

A friend from my days in York visited today. He lives in Woking whose team just avoided the drop partially on account of the recent result between Woking and York. York lost it there and, of course, early in the season. Such a pity given that most recent results had been better. Today's result against a good team was probably no worse than could have been anticipated. The toughest part was hearing that Guiseley had scored in the 90th minute and had they not done so York would have stayed up. As you say, this is the first time in York's history that the club has been in Division 6. A far cry from the period of the eighties when over a hundred points were achieved in one season and there were good runs in the cups. Will the team survive? And what of the new stadium? It will probably still be a move to somewhere beyond the ring road but playing fields rather than anything grand.

As a Yorkshireman it's sad to see. I seem to remember they almost made it to the top flight in the 70s.

Thanks Rob...working up Glenshee today and no phone/radio reception - came back into range to joyous texts from my brother that the Saints were two-up...worried all the way home, but no problem...4-up by the time I got in. 20 goals scored in last 6 games.

Here's the table at the start of February:

                        and now:

One last push against the newly promoted Hibs on last day of the season (I hope). Wonderful performance from young manager Jack Ross this last couple of months. Turned them around. Come on you Buddies!

                          Bloody Norah! Tomorrow is huge!!!

But why Sunday? It’s so continental. In Britain football takes place at 3.00pm when Saturday comes.

Highest league position - 5th in Division 2 in Oct 1974. My era commenced in 1982.

                            Good luck to Sheffield Wednesday.

Actually, I quite like all four teams in the play-off spots but I hope Wednesday do it.

A pity that Raith are playing Ayr but there is no certainty that they will beat them.

Interesting that the York's best season 1974-5 coincided with Wednesday's first drop to the third tier, by a fair margin at the foot of Div 2. The same season saw Man U as Div 2 champions - yes Beefy the mighty do fall occasionally!

Bad luck to Stockport, really is time for a change of fortunes.
The Buddies just need to keep it together for one more week.

At least I'm a few quid better off after giving the game a swerve yesterday.......
