Saints well off the pace yesterday. Some modest hopeful signs, but much work to do.

….. and as Fred Trueman used to say “ I have no idea what’s going off here … “

....I'm sure the sight of Scott Parker standing like capsule of gelatin hands in pockets; ready to turn tail on his heels, as he did as a player....Toon had a smell of him at a time when they really wanted another Lee Clark....I'm a terrible man for running folk down as you may have guessed....I've no faith in him - but he's (I think) still got a team to play with....and he did take Fulham back up....(never trust a man with 2 thirds of his features on 50% of his face - old Bristol proverb)

                      ……. and so it begins
                      Woking 3 Hangers 2
…… but some clouds have silver linings …. 50 years of pain teaches you that with the Hangers a lot of bad things can happen before the fat lady warbles and so at 0-2 I placed £5 on Woking at 5-1 to ease the pain … and it has a little

hope you paid the tax on the stake, AG.

( and bad luck Hangers, obviously).

Truro City seem to have made a decent start to the season playing back in the County at their new ground. A 5-0 win over Worthing in Truro on non-league day yesterday bodes well for them. Currently 4th in NLSouth.

Good Carabao Cup night out at Cleethorpes for the Owls (well second half subs helped delivery). Grimsby 1(1) Owls 5(0) HT scores in brackets!

Good result, cloughie. TBs have clearly decided to concentrate their efforts on Premier League survival.
