I think we may have a problem with creative passing from midfield, which is why Kane is too deep, and Foden not in the game.

Edit...but the back four need cover,....Southgate would be ok with a draw I’m sure.

Edit...well there you go. Blimey Sterling ran a long way under no challenge at all.

As soon as we run at their defence we get past them - all that intricate passing look pretty but doesn’t get anywhere

Grealish would have a field day against these, and get fouled a lot

And then slow down a bit?

                  Perfect, if you've got a dead-ball specialist.

Gentleman Gareth is thinking this through...... Foden was seeing little action, Rashford can grab the ball further back, muscle in a little more...

Well done England. Fine start. Controlled the latter stages well. Wembley cheers. Another one for the wall-chart.
OK! One game at a time...

Absolutely.... don't post on music, feed Cats and watch footie at the same time......!

Did the Kuijkens never do 452? Can't find one just now. What a shame if so...

Good start. I am less confident than you about Southgate, but I think he “gets “ tournament football, and this groupd of players is capable of giving us a good run.

Looking at the draw for the second round, we might not want to win the group though?

Just don't watch "footie"; you'll be much the happier for it!

Would you have said the same to Shostakovich, or Hans Keller?

Not about happiness, but about agony to ecstasy and everything in between. Or as Klopp said, football is "the most important of the least important things..."

But We are Liverpool. This Means More. So it goes with England.
Excellent very lively Austria - North Macedonia game just finishing..... country walk now before Netherlands v Ukraine....might even fit some Mozart in somewhere...
