    Yes cloughie.
The Conference teams join but it remains a North South split, national from the 1st round proper.
I think the 1st and 2nd rounds proper were N/S at one time, can't remember when that changed.

    Today's games

    Arsenal 2 Brighton 0 Forum derby,routine Gunners win,scored in each half,Seagulls 1 point from 4 away games
    Newcastle United 1 Liverpool 1 Forum derby,both goals in the 1st half,Reds 7th Toon 9th
Sheffield Wednesday 3 Leeds United 0 2 up by half time,1st win in 4 games

Thanks for the weekend round ups, ER, and well done to the Owls for a stonking win yesterday.

Saints legend Rickie Lambert has retired. One of the few plays that nobody hereabout ( Southampton, not this forum) disagrees on. A fantastic player, whose goals fired us to back to back promotions, and mid table security in the PL. A terrific footballer, who had a great range of passing, as well as his wonderful finishing, and inspirational character.
One of my favourite memories of his two penalties in the last five minutes at Millwall , to win us three vital promotion points. Don't think the Lions' fans were too thrilled though.....

For reasons I can't quite put my finger on , I think in an earlier age he would have been perfect for Don Revie's Leeds, just his kind of player, although maybe a bit too much of a gent.

Here he is finishing off Franchise.

I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

Yes - a very good player who helped me to a good score in one or two fantasy football seasons. It need not be the end. There is a team in North Yorkshire which desperately needs someone like him to save them from Division 7. Congratulations to Arsene Wenger on his 21st anniversary. I have steadfastly refused to oppose him even in the grimmest moments. Total commitment to total commitment. Given that consideration broadly, Ozil can go in January. I was up to 232,533 in GW6 but alas in GW7 it is 452,796 tho' I am satisfied given that the total number of players has now increased to 5,174,502. I believe I predicted at the start of the season that Man City would win the Premier League. Unlike their manager, Aguero was my first choice when it came to choosing/keeping players in my team. The decision has served me well. His injury coincides with a much easier set of next games for them than many - and interestingly the same is true of Vardy and Leicester. I've kept him in the team as I'm not convinced that being absent from England is the same as being injured.

What odds can you get on Palace going through a season without scoring a goal?

I assume you mean in the Prem, as they've broken their duck in the League Cup.

Yes indeed .... I wonder what odds you can get on Palace both scoring no goals in the Prem and winning the League Cup.

33/1 to win the league cup and 1000/1 to finish the season with no league wins so a double would give you combined odds of 34,033/1.
Can't find any scoring no league goals odds.

I haven't heard any discussion in any of the media about the implications on English football of an independent Catalonia. My assessment is that Barcelona would have no effective opposition/competition. Consequently, the early impetus from there will be towards a European super-league with all the top teams from our Premier League being removed into it.

And I would be very much against that development.
