That's a great result for you Cloughie. Bompey are really on the slide, no idea why.

...and we’re on the up, no idea how!

In addition to your injury woes 10 men after 2 mins not helpful - just move on to the next match!

Awful performance. Two red cards. Comedy own goal. Bednarek out for three games because Martial dived and Mike Dean loves United, and VAR does us out of of a consolation goal, and gifts United a penalty.
( No more injuries picked up though)

              Commiserations ER.

Catching up on some work to get it out of the system ! Just have to see how they react on Satdee,. TBF, absolutely everything that can go wrong is going wrong. Bednareks sending off sounds like a joke, VAR did us out of a goal and United have an excellent attack.
We recovered from Leicester very well, but this time we face an awful injury list, and a run of nasty fixtures. A few players need to stand up and be counted after defeats like this.

I guess there are no real consolations after such heavy defeats, ts, I felt unwell for days after our 2-7, but consider - Liverpool, United, and even ADUG-Skyblue have all suffered large and unexpected reverses this season....

We've seen it in the Prem before, but never quite like this, and - two games in one night with two teams finishing with 9 men?

                        Bednarek very hard done by.

Palace lost 9-0 to Liverpool in 1989 and later in the season famously beat them 4-3 in Cup Semi-Final.

It happens, Jayne. It has happened to us from time to time over the last 50 years. Remember the 7-0 humiliation at Leeds in the early 70s ? And there were mitigating factors tonight, though we dealt with a bad situation poorly.
The true test is how we react, not least to a continuing injury crisis and a nasty run of fixtures.

That was genuinely one of the best days of football ever with the Palace win (sorry Jayne) and the United/ Oldham game ( 3-3 ?). Wonderful.

Ralph interviewed after the game was quite curt with his responses.
Interviewer: Do you know how many goals you conceded this evening?
                              Ralph: Nein!
Interviewer: Do you know how many players you had on the park at the end?
                              Ralph: Nein!

It was truly awful to watch, but it was a reality check of a very gifted team in decline. Dalglish resigned less than a year later.

Then remember what happened v Arsenal in the last league game of the previous season (1989), and just a few months after Hillsborough. The whole city was in shock. No wonder the 2020 Premiership meant so much.
Palace were still our bogey team just a few years ago (Cristanbul...! Yea, we wept...), but finally we seem to have laid the ghost...

As for startling scorelines, I'll never forget what Klopp said in 2016, before he won anything here, after we had beaten Villa 6-0 away (there's a weirdly lengthy history of high-scoring games between Villa and Liverpool).
"The trouble with winning 6-0 is someone has to lose 6-0, which isn't nice, for them..."....

Did you see that lovely moment between Klopp and Milner against West Ham? (Milner was upset at being subbed....Watch through for the second reaction...)

Remarkable man. No wonder we love him so much.
