I don't actually follow soccer that much, but it strikes me, as I read the messages on this thread, that as a rule supporters of less 'fashionable' clubs (i.e. not the Premier League Big Boys) seem to be decidedly more cheerful and resilient. I must confess to having something of a soft spot for poor old Fort William in the Scottish Highland League.
Mixed feelings about Newcastle. I generally wish them well - it was my local team when I was a student, but like most Palace fans I am happy when Brucey does badly and its obviously a matter of pure pragmatism and self-preservation to hope that teams below us in the league don't accumulate too many points.
Sorry yer lads didnae get by the toffees, cloughie...like the Buddies, no distraction from the league.
Result about what I expected, jc, we’ve a threadbare squad without injuries and covid - Everton put out a strong side and our youngsters at the back did well. Wildsmith, our keeper, the busiest on the field with 33 shots on goal! We’ve a job for Lampard if Stockport don’t snap him up first!
