      We’re 23rd - unfortunately the Beeb doesn’t lie - well not always!

Palace's customary yo-yo movement is on a strong downward plunge as we cling on to mid-table. 10 goals to nil conceded in two games. Let's hope we can defy logic with some Ian Dowie style bouncebackability and thwart Leicester on Monday

I watched some of the game yesterday, gurney, and Palace played some beautiful-to-watch football till they got to the box; but it'll take more than that to beat the Villa goalie at the moment. There was never a point where it looked to me like Palace had the extra man. Wee Roy looked right scunnered!

Yes. It is encouraging to see them play with fluency. Robust and organised defence has been a strength. Now shipping a few goals.

A little less gamesmanship from Saha might help - the sending off didn’t help him! Cheats don’t deserve to prosper and rarely do!

I think we are in a bit of a mid season slump, but we have had much, much worse ones........

Shame about Theo’s offside goal, which was a lovely move, but it was a fair call.
A few games ago I'd have been very (rather than somewhat) disappointed with a point at Arsenal and Fulham.

Looking at this week's game I'm not sure we'll even get that, but at least West Ham have a day less to recover.

I was sad to see the death announced of Jim McLean, the dourest man in football by a country mile. Jim, along with Fergie, briefy broke the Old-Firm monopoly in Scottish football with Dundee Utd and the Dons winning at home and abroad. Sorry to see the old grouch go - he built some great teams including the one the Buddies beat in '87 to win the Cup. A great personality of the game and not afraid to take on the press as witnessed here by poor old John Barnes (not the Liverpool one).
Dundee United chairman Jim Mclean takes a rather aggressive approach when being asked about the future of manager Alex Smith

                              RIP Jim

I’d take a point with at least three key injuries, and not a lot going for us at Fulham, Stoatfoe. No reason we shouldn’t get something off WHU , as BHA did today, but we need to deal with Antonio( if playing), who always seems to forget that he owes us a favour .
