Anyone else thrilled by Der Klassiker tonight? Ended Dortmund 2 Bayern 3, a match of stunning minute to minute quality!

Has there ever been anyone with the heading ability of Lewandowski? Timing, speed, direction..... just astounding. Erling Haaland is a terrific finisher too, remarkable for a 20-year-old...

Not the worst result, Cloughie, and a good weeks work overall.

Great result for Stockport.hopefully heading back where they belong on the back of a good cup run.

There will never be a better header of a ball than Ron Davies. Well not as far as I’m concerned

Anybody remember his headed hatrick at Old Trafford ?

                          Oh very good !!

Well as good luck had it, the cameras were at OT that day to record what was probably Ron's finest moment. but he scored goals like these week after week, usually from Terry Paine's inch perfect crosses. ( Ignore the first two minutes).

Big Ron was my first football hero. He always seemed like a bit of a gentle giant type. Ron was handy with his hands as well as his head, and did a nifty line in cartoons of players .

Thanks for that reminder of Big Ron's prodigious heading ability. I was reminded of his namesake and fellow Welshman, Wyn, another famous header of the ball. Found a clip of Wyn scoring for Wales v England in 1966. Ron figures in the build-up to the goal.

4-1 .... now that's a scoreline that reminds my of yesterday's Palace win v Leeds. I had refused to stump up for the pay TV fee and listening on the Five Live it sounded like a great game. I had to make do with MotD highlights.

Saved by a dodgy offside , Gurney.....

Good to see Palace breaking out of their self imposed straightjacket.

Oh dear Leeds got a pasting.

By the way ts, Saints at top is remarkable in itself and no doubt temporary but to be top on goal difference over Liverpool, something you would only have dreamed of after last season’s goal shipping period. Of course Liverpool’s strange result against Villa earlier accounts for that.
