It's started to look as though the emerging Man Utd will steal a Champions League spot. Who'd have thought they'd be playing as well as they are now, after a relatively poor first half of the season?

I'm hoping it will be a really good game at OT tonight, with two in form teams. Saints usually seem to rise to the challenge of playing there, usually in unfortunate defeat, but we have had our moments. I sense that we will choose carefully when to press, to negate the risk of United's speed on the break. But RH will have a cunning plan, I'm sure !

As Leicester slide and Chelsea stutter I would not be surprised if MU end up 3rd and wherever they land at the end of the season Wolves and the Blades have had remarkable seasons!
...and the losers at the bottom will be the winners in the Championship with their Failurechute Payments!

.......and it did turn out to be a pretty good game.
It looked for a long time as if Uniteds razor sharp attack would prove to be the difference, but Saints got a late and well deserved reward for a lot of excellent attacking play. More good signs for next season, when we simply have to figure out how to beat bottom half teams at home.
Romeu was lucky not to see red, not sure really why he left his foot in. He does get a lot of cards, but that is the defensive midfielders lot, and he is usually tough but not dirty.
A really generous and refreshing interview with OGS after the game. I think united will probably get back into “ proper” Europe, as my local United fan likes to call it.

Barring miracles and extreme banana skins looks like 2 from 3 Chelsea, Leicester, Man U for the Champs League and of course Man U and Wolves can qualify through Europa also. Have Bompey got enough of the Howedini touch?

Watched most of the second half of the Wolves match yesterday, not knowing that it was going to be on (we'd intended watching Glyndebourne's Billy Budd: that, or at least Act 1, came later!).
I haven't been following this thread (it's my partner who's the Wolves fan) so I don't know if there have been any comments about the stimulated crowd noise.
It seemed quite effective to me: what do others think?
How clever and quick to respond can it be?

It seems to be reasonably “ realistic “ and responsive.
But I don’t have it on through choice.
For most matches I have music playing anyway, instead of the standard Man Utd or Liverpool co - commentator love-in........

Appalling reffing in Liverpool / Arsenal game: Van Dijk manifestly pulled back by the shirt - repeatedly re-shown on TV - as he tried to clear a ball which became goal fodder.
                          Yes, Alisson's fatal error, but...but...
.............and how on earth the Arsenal defender Holding stayed on the field after a brutal and obviously deliberate crash to down Mane..........

....when you are playing along side Davide Luis you have equalise the odds a bit, Yes a bit of a bully....but Mane was smiling in second half....and Holder must be vying for a regular place in side where Arteta does not seem to value him....all part of soccer sit-com/soap opera which makes it interesting. Van Dyke complacent - and paid for it. T'was a very little ordinary pull-back....

Delighted with Saints equaliser at Old Trafford.

A rare fairly convincing home win for the Foxes.

Can the Eagles halt Man Utd European surge?
