A little surprised to see no celebration of Fort William winning a game ! 5-2 against Nairn County ( to whom many commiserations ) It wasn't a league game though, something called the North of Scotland Cup. So not sure how significant it is. But they've shipped in a bunch of loanees from Inverness CT.

We holidayed near Claggan Park once - beautiful ground with Ben Nevis in the foreground. Most days there was a sheep in goal, lying down, chewing. Don't know if he was in training.

Buddies kick off the new season at Easter Road this afternoon after a less than successful pre-season with Big Jim Goodwin installed at the helm. Haven't heard about any £80m signings in Paisley yet. Fingers crossed for another successful, trophy-filled year.

Some Tractor Boys fans are getting a bit carried away following today's win at Burton Albion - but it's a promising start to the season.

Buddies succumbed to a late goal but it seems that they played reasonably well and had their chances. At least we're not bottom anyway. Celtic started their defence of the title by sticking 7 (seven) past the luckless Perth Saints at Parkhead yesterday.

Last year we were taken on a guided tour of Perth. As we passed the football stadium, we were informed that the locals' name for the team that plays there is 'St Johnstone Nil'.
