    That is very sad.
I was just too young to remember ‘67, but that triumph was part of childish sporting folklore as we discovered the beautiful game in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Those boys annual photos of the final always seemed unfeasibly glamorous compared to what usually passed for the football big time for us for us..

Thought Liverpool just about deserved that. Silly challenge by Ritchie, when all that was required was a bit of care. Pulsating match , breathless entertainment.

What a great title race it has been, and Liverpool keep finding answers. I like Origi, always capable of doing something dangerous. Really glad it will go to the last game, and still in with a chance on their own patch is the least they deserve.lets hope Salah is fit to play.
All eyes on Alison’s lot now........

And the bottom of League one was pretty extraordinary today. All ended well for Southend,a team that is always popular with Saints fans .

Yes but it ended badly for Plymouth and the South West has had a dismal time of it this season, Truro and Weston Super Mare relegated from the NLS, Yeovil from League 2 and Exeter missed out on the League 2 playoffs - only Torquay had any success!
By the way why is Southend popular with the Saints?

Oh dear , that is grim reading Cloughie. Awful times for Yeovil, after such recent heights. L2 is no sort of a place for Plymouth to be , and Exeter seem to be turning into a nearly team. And as for Truro, the big time seems further away than ever .

I think the Saints and Southend love- in started when we clinched a playoff place in the last game against them in 2007 and their already relegated team brought a big and friendly contingent to SMS. Think we played them in L1 later on, and the fans all stayed on good terms. Plus it is generally thought of as a good seaside away day.

Incidentally, very sad to see Notts County drop out of the league. We had a few good battles with them in the top flight around the early 80s. Last time I saw them was around 10 years ago at Meadow Lane in the League cup, when they beat us , sparking a pitch invasion !!

                    No, let’s not.

Relief that Wimbledon didn’t swap places with the Plastic Dons.

Or more accurately won the non-league! Interesting next season they will meet around a dozen of their former Div 4 OB colleagues.

                        Oops sorry EA.

Yes I’m very pleased that Wimbledon stayed up.

I’m never quite sure why some leagues are misnamed non-leagues. The Championship isn’t even called a league any more, but the others are.
