Possibly the weirdest match of all time. Played supposedly behind closed doors at an older stadium as a penalty for earlier issues. Just 200 supporters there - all Minsk - and a bunch of journalists. Zenit were trying to make up for a 4-0 deficit in the first leg. At half time, they were winning 1-0. At the time of a sending off - the 72nd minute - it was 2-0 but they were down to ten men. By the end of the 90 minutes it was 4-0 meaning 4-4 on aggregate and extra time needed. 30 minutes later, it was 8-1 and 8-5 on aggregate. A river runs past the stadium and can be seen from it. Banned Zenit supporters had manned boats on the river for the duration. It is not known if their support from the water contributed to the outcome.

so it wasn't Goodnight Irene for the Zenit fans then. thankfully.
Thanks for the report Lat, the game reminds me a bit of Ronnie Rosenthal in the cup at the Dell , turning 0-2 into 6-2 in no time. Well extra time actually.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
Ings if he is fit. Fantasy football is outside my zone of expertise. But then many things are.
I just re watched the goals from that 6-2 game. If Bruce was throwing games, then that was one of them. not saying he was of course.
No.
Guardiola isn't as thorny as hell when faced with mild questions. Guendouzi is the answer to all of Arsenal's problems. Ashley spends big on Newcastle. The Spurs ground isn't the latest example of buggled infrastructure projects. West Ham aren't petty about the colour of the running track around their pitch. And Pogba enjoys going fishing with Jose on most Sundays.
I wouldn't advise taking up fantasy football at your age unless you really feel you can manage it - it requires huge levels of expertise and many years of studying at night school.
(Incidentally, Liverpool were 5-1 to win the PL early this week which is astonishing - with the De Bruyne injury it's still 3-1 : I don't bet - but many could be getting very big money)
Oh well! No treble for us this season! Humped by Aberdeen to take us out of the League Cup. 3 down in 25 minutes...sounds like we were lucky to get nil, as they say.
Hangers hang on for once to beat Maidenhead 2 - 1 but playing all your fellow strugglers early is not good ...... The Toon get a man sent off and then get a penalty and choose a man who is having a nightmare to take it ..... !!!!
Thierry Henry to be Arsenal's new manager by Christmas, otherwise it will be relegation.
You can't have no pace defenders all sitting ahead of the centre line - it's utter madness.
...this is very midtable madness.....
Anyway, the annual defeat at Goodison out of the way, ( ok , we got a point last season) with just a few yellow cards in the minus column, and a goal for the new striker.we have had worse days.
Lots of them.

You were right about Ings but the fitness questions you raised made me wary and I left him out.
My start today in ff was atrocious, other than with Maddison who I'd brought in, but I do have Man City and Liverpool etc players to come. It's all about rotation these days - do you stick in players with great point scoring potential and who might not be played or ones with less potential who will be played? There are, of course, a few exceptions. Like over 50% of people, I have Salah and I also now have Ederson who should be certs. The ones who had Alonso, Morata, Kane today.....they are laughing their heads off. Then there are the solid borderlines - I've got Aguero, Mendy, Mane, Alexander-Arnold, Shaw, among others. One would hope that they are more than likely to be fielded than not, to varying degrees. I did bring in Chilwell who is really going forward this year and kept a clean sheet with bonus points but I kept him on the bench in my main team. I also brought in Vardy which turned out to be a big mistake. Guaranteed play? Not after today's debacle. A weird Leicester lurch from me - three players - was as feared a step too far but not in the way I might have predicted.

Doesn’t sound good AG for The Toon’s season this year?
At least The Seagulls beat Man Utd! I think we did that last season?

Not bad for a little Eastern European town in Wiltshire whose only claims to fame are non existent poisonings by drone and producing illiterate Wimbledon champions.
