Well there are fewer inhabitants now, with so many second homes....

Yet according to the very same website it's the subject 'everybody is talking about'. During the course of yesterday I met quite a few people and not a single one raised the matter even in the course of being bombarded about it all day in the press and media. That was certainly a lot more encouraging.

Sadly it seems President Trump has a point about the BBC and the promotion of Fake News and he should know, that's for sure ...

Except that there's nothing fake about this item - it's just that most people here think it was not worth reporting.

        There's an important difference.

Indeed the item itself was certainly not Fake News ... though it could be described as rather entertaining trivia.

The "fakeness" to which I referred was the bit highlighted in my post!

I often resort to World Service (readily available on a DAB preset) for an alternative news perspective - also fewer depressing Brexit updates.

No ... national suicide successfully presented by some to a provenly gullible electorate as 'an exciting opportunity for the country' is extremely depressing.

As for important news Al Jazeera is the place to go for more discerning TV viewers these days. It provides objective reports about major events from all over the world and is streets ahead of BBCNews24, imho.
