Rapidly descending into farce here : I was asking how Bryn would "insult" (winkeye) someone like me who had never heard of a smart speaker. But I thank you for your contribution: I now know what Mozart speakers are.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Sorry I thought you meant me, but I’m wondering if we could develop the Mozart speaker by introducing a subwoofer and it becoming a Beathoven!

Went to lunch at my brother's today and discovered it was the Festival of QingMing or Ancestor Tomb-sweeping Day. My nephew married an Anglo-Chinese lady, so my brother thought we could meet up with them after lunch and sweep my late sister-in-law's tomb. Pulled out all the weeds and then lit incense sticks. There was a bit of a breeze so it took quite a while to light the incense sticks as the matches kept going out. There were other people at the cemetery but nobody else seemed to be lighting incense sticks.

That's the sort of thing for which I keep a number of old gas-fuelled cigarette lighters - they still work, 8 years after my giving up smoking!

Must remember that for next year. I don't think it's always on Easter Sunday.

It wouldn't be in China, so is that a western convenience? In which case does it matter that Easter is a moveable feast.

It just happened to be on Easter Sunday this year. Next year, apparently, it's on Tuesday 5th April, 15 days after the spring equinox.

Had me thinking of the Malagasay tradition of Famadihana, ff, where every seven years families gather to turn over the bones of their ancestors. Lucy Duran did a great programme about it for World Routes in 2009 which is still in the R3 archives.

With all those INCENSED shoppers there'll be a lot of JOSSling in shopping centres, then.
