It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Went to lunch at my brother's today and discovered it was the Festival of QingMing or Ancestor Tomb-sweeping Day. My nephew married an Anglo-Chinese lady, so my brother thought we could meet up with them after lunch and sweep my late sister-in-law's tomb. Pulled out all the weeds and then lit incense sticks. There was a bit of a breeze so it took quite a while to light the incense sticks as the matches kept going out. There were other people at the cemetery but nobody else seemed to be lighting incense sticks. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal.
