Are you suggesting that feathers tell fibs, oddone?

As I was parking up my bike outside Tesco's in Brixton earlier, a short lady came up and, standing the right distance away as she looked up at me from behind her face mask, asked me, "Did you hear we're all going up one to the next tier in this coronavirus thing?" "Yes, I saw it on the news earlier". "Don't worry", she went on, pointing back over her shoulder, "You won't catch a TING in there!" "Thanks for letting me know" I laughed; "I'm sure they'd appreciate your recommendation!"

Actually, I've met people who have been Ringed by the Flat Horizon in George Benjamin moments, but for reasons of propriety I'll not say who...

The "shoe event horizon" is possibly my favourite DNA concept.

I thought it was its sole concept, Bryn.

"its"? No, no; his. It does not have to be Christmas for Noel to turn up.

Just now, while I was out pruning, a driver stopped his car right in the middle of the street to ask my opinions about caring for roses. After a few minutes he suddenly remarked, "Oh, I forgot to pull up my face mask - sorry!" "I was standing too close in any case", I admitted, boldly venturing to point out, "you guys nearly always seem to wear black face masks". "I know", he replied, "white masks don't look very good on black faces".

                          Quest Sprout

Quest Sprout, an amiable little brassica in cartoon form. A small woodland creature that loves adventure and is always on the lookout for another great quest. Used to live in the forest with mother; but they were separated after a bad dream involving The Demon Sword of Eternal Slumber. Very popular with Dungeons and Dragons fans. (Gosh, is that still alive? I remember sleep deprived students from aeons ago enjoying that)

(The following from the BBC News website ‘newsbeat’ section yesterday.)

‘Among the horror and the misery of this year, one tiny round hero has emerged to give thousands of people brief moments of joy. That hero is Quest Sprout.
All Quest Sprout wants to do is go on a quest. All Quest Sprout ever says is "Qwest". He's the creation of New Zealand video games tester and comic artist Matthew Wills, who's been making fantasy/comedy webcomics since March 2018.’

                          QS can be found hereabouts:

Quest Sprout is a small woodland creature that loves adventure and is always on the lookout for another great quest. Quest Sprout used to live in the forest with their mother; but they were seperated after Quest Sprout had a bad dream involving The Demon Sword of Eternal Slumber. Now Quest Sprout hangs out at the Adventur'r's Tavern, wandering the nearby countryside in search of quests. The locals are all high level adventurers themselves and are always ready to love and support Quest Sprout, so if things get too tough the tavern is always waiting. Quest Sprout's sword is plain and made of wood, but in the Realm of Dreams it has a mind and a heart of its own. Even in dreams the two of them will go on daring quests to count sheep and catch roaming Z's. Quest Sprout's trademark cry "QWEST!" is a call for adventure. Quest Sprout is always ready to charge in and save the day... unless there are scary demons involved.

                          Qwest
And the tune ends too soon for us all

I was about to login, following a review of new posts, when Google popped up and asked me if I wanted to translate the page from French to English!

Well I know forum members are particularly fond of French composers and artists, but I felt that was going a bit far.

                                Seriously, though - are they?
