My outrage stemmed from the fact that I've never left hot water bottles behind. The one that I use still has the cover that my mother knitted for it! (Oh, the misinterpretability of emoticons!)

I was frightened off electric blankets as a child, as a consequence of being told they could catch fire. I'm sure they make them safe nowadays: but I've never seen them advertised - where does one go to buy one?
