    Liz Smith RIP

A fine comedy actress with a touching personal history.

I loved the Nana character in The Royle Family.

    And so it continues ...

In commemoration, I shall bake a chocolate, beetroot and marmite cake tomorrow.

I still remember her brilliant and touching performance in Mike Leigh's "Hard Times".

Couldn't put it better, Stanley. I liked her way back in 'I didn't know you cared'

          RIP Liz

Yes, that's how I remember her too, as Mrs Brandon in I Didn't Know You Cared, a character played to perfection.

Wonderful actor/actress who started late in life - very poignant that they repeated the Royle Family special the Queen of Sheba portraying Nanna's decline and death as a tribute to Caroline Aherne only a couple of days before Liz Smith died .
