It is included in Red Priest's version, as it is in most rather more traditional Christmas performances of the work.

But it does come quite near the end - the end of Part II actually, which deals with the Passion - though not at the very end, where Red Priest have it.

      Thanks for that explanation, jean.

Even so, I was surpised at how sometimes you can almost hear the words in their playing.
I meant in the Youtube trailer - if there was a vestige of HC I missed it.

They don't want you to hear any more in case you don't buy the CD.

To the OP: last night at Dorchester [on Thames] Abbey we heard an excellent Messiah from the orchestra and chorus of St Johns where standing for the HC was observed with the usual competition for who gets up first! Repeat at Oxford tonight.

Orchestra was minimalist: 1 to a part violins, viola, cello and DB + organ [portable, not the Abbey's] continuo with 2 oboes [modern] and a bassoon but a largish chorus which was somewhat unbalanced in numbers in each voice. Lots more sopranos and basses than tenors and contraltos. However despite the church acoustic the balance was surprisingly good. Very little vibrato from string players.

it would be easier to make up in volume terms with smaller forces when singing the middle parts than at the extremities, top and bottom, I would have thought.
