I've never used an airline sickbag...

... but I think I'd get through a stack if this happened on my BA flight

Presumably it says something about the cultural preferences of the sort of people who can afford the seats in First or Business or whatever that is...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

... as does the prominently displayed Spectator...

I was on a plane today and listened to Bruckner 9.

The male passenger blinking perplexedly at 1'42" says it all! That said, a shapely female leg waved in my on-flight direction would help make the journey seem shorter!

(I read the heading as "The World's worst...")

Not forgetting that there was something for the ladies as well....All credit to the dancers for negotiating the obstacles, but if you had paid a small fortune for travelling first class would you want such a gimmick?

I've not flown with BA for quite a few years now but, unless they've been on some kind of economy drive, I'm pretty certain that it's business class, not first class; it's more than enough to persuade me not to fly business class again - it'll have to be first class in future...

Quite liked the woman sniggering into her phone at around 0.39.

But in all seriousness this is supposedly an ad - and I thought that the purpose of airline ads was to encourage more business for them rather than to ensure that any business cutomers fly Virgin in future.

          Yikes indeed!

I wonder if such a gimmick would be appreciated in cattle class?

What worries me is that, should this exercise fail to generate sufficient extra business for BA, it might decide to try having Charlotte Church "singing" a medley comprising Come fly with me, Up, up and away and Fly me to the moon in First Class; were that ever to happen in front of me I'd probably demand my fare back plus damages plus interest.

... reduce weight by putting as little fuel in as they dare and flying as slow as they dare, thereby improving metres per litre figures & saving money

As you say, Cali, please pass the sick bag.

Reminds me of the prank by Barrie Humphries, involving a tin of Heinz Russian salad in mayonnaise and a sick bag.

Haha. The cotton suddenly dropped - when the singing started :-/

Mind you, seats in First Class must be very expensive if they get that on every journey!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Was that intended to be a recommendation for Ms Jenkins or for BA?

At least on the Tube you can get off when you see the buskers coming and retreat to one of the coaches they've already serviced!

Indeed; the fact that this does not necessitate a drop of some 11km is another example of the advantages of travelling by what Egon Petri used to call "London's tin sausage" over flying somewhere over the rainbow, although the day when TFL has coaches built with cattle, business and first class facilities would nevertheless seem rather remote...
